We are DONE with Twilight!!!

We have read, talked about, discussed-til-we-were-blue-in the face this book:

 And now, on to.....this one:

So, while all but one of us have already read the book and seen the movie, the plan is to operate as though we have NOT read it before. Reading it again from the fresh perspective of....

-What will happen with Edward and Bella?
-Will Victoria come back to seek revenge on the Cullens and Bella?
-When or will Charlie forgive Edward for the fact that Bella got hurt?
-What role will Jacob play in the Bella's life?

Act as though you haven't read the books and add a comment below. What questions do you have going into New Moon? What were/are the first things you wondered about after finishing Twilight?

For me (Mrs. Bittner), this is the point in both the movie and the book that I really truly felt and understood the love between Edward and Bella. She loves him so much that she is willing to walk away from everything and everyone she's ever known and (in many senses of the word) DIE to be with him. But he loves HER so much that he refuses to let her give all of that up -he doesn't want her to feel the loss and pain that he did. And it just made me all the more curious....how will it work out?

Twilight Book Club Winter Party

We had our Twilight Book Club Winter Party on December 15, 2010. Considering it was the last week before Winter Break, we had a LOT to be excited about.

We did tons of fun things - played Twilight Trivia in two different ways. The first trivia game was played by Mrs. Bittner playing sound clips from the various Twilight Movies. We (the students) had to guess who was speaking in the clip, what movie it was from, and what the scene was. We also played a trivia game that had some pretty tough questions (like 'What was the color of the bucket Bella is using to wash her truck in Twilight), but we figured most of them out. Mrs. Bittner had some pretty cool prizes for us - Eclipse stickers, key chains, etc.

The coolest thing we did was split up into two groups (Team Edward and Team Jacob, of course). Mrs. Bittner had baked cakes for each team - the Team Jacob cake was brown (like how he is as a wolf) and the Team Edward cake was white. Decorations for the Team Jacob cake were green icing (because they're always outside) and black decorative icing. Decorations for the Team Edward cake were pale white icing and sparkly decorating gel.

Keep an eye out for pictures from our AWESOME meeting.....they should be up over the next few days!

AND....

We decided to read the first six chapters of Twilight over winter break, so if you missed the meeting, start reading. If you need a copy of the book, me (Mrs. Bittner). I'm planning on being in Kent once or twice next week and I can meet up with you and give you a copy to borrow.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Our First Two Meetings

Edward and Bella in Eclipse - "Marry Me" - "No" :O)
Jacob and Bella at the Council Meeting in Eclipse
The Love Triangle - Bella, Edward and Jacob ("I'm Switzerland")

The Newborn Army

So, unless you've been living under a rock or in a far away land with no books, no TV, no computers, etc., you've probably heard of a little something called 'Twilight'. The Twilight movies (aka The Twilight Saga) are based on the novels written by Stephenie Meyer.

Some of the students here at Mill Creek Middle School in Kent, WA have decided to form a Twilight Book Club. We are getting together once a week to discuss the books, talk about the similarities and differences between the books and the movies, and also have a little fun by playing Twilight Board Games/Online Trivia.

Tomorrow, Dec. 15, 2010 will be our third meeting. We've held two informational meetings so far, and have about ten students who are interested in being in the club. Mrs. Bittner (Room C107) is our advisor.

We'll be meeting 12/15/10 from 3:01-4:00p.m. for a Twilight Themed Winter Party - a Team Edward/Team Jacob decorating contest, another round of trivia, some work on this blog, and we'll be making plans about reading the first part of the book.

All we have to say is - the Twilight Book Club is bound to be lots of fun!!! :o)
